South Jakarta Carries Out Food Inspection in Five Markets

South Jakarta Government carried out food inspection in five modern and traditional markets on Wednesday (6/9).

Monitoring is carried out to ensure food commodities are in accordance with standards for sale and public consumption

South Jakarta Government Assistant for Economy and Development, Mukhlisin said, food inspection was carried out in Primo Supermarket in Cilandak Town Square, Pondok Labu Market, Carefour Lebak Bulus, Mede Market, and Cipete Selatan Market.

"Monitoring is carried out to ensure food commodities are in accordance with standards for sale and public consumption," he mentioned.

No Harmful Substances in Food Products on Untung Jawa Island

There were several types of food monitored in five modern and traditional markets, consisting agricultural products, livestock, fisheries, and other processed products.

After conducting lab test on food commodities in five locations, his side didn't find any food contained of hazardous substances, such as formalin, chlorine, and pesticide residues.

"All samples taken from five markets show negative results for hazardous substances," he stated.

Primo Supermarket Store Manager, Yosep Heru Sukahadi conveyed, his side always supports food inspection activity. He emphasized that his side is ready to receive inputs from related agencies.

"I would like to thank Jakarta Government for conducting food inspection. Hopefully it can give more goodness in providing services to the community," he closed.
